It was in Jerusalem, in 1966, that a burning seed of desire was planted in the heart of Arnold Fruchtenbaum. It is also an alternate name for Jerusalem (Isaiah 29:1) - the city of peace now waiting for the Prince of Peace to return. Ariel means “Lion of God,” representing the Messiah Yeshua as the Lion of Judah. Īriel Ministries, created to evangelize and disciple our Jewish brethren, has been born from necessity to meet an urgent need. Five years later, this same meeting brought Arnold, at age 13, to saving knowledge of Jesus the Messiah. Before their release, however, the family was befriended by a Lutheran minister and it was this contact that eventually led Arnold and his mother to the New York headquarters of the American Board of Missions to the Jews (ABMJ). There, Arnold received Orthodox Jewish training from his father before the family finally immigrated to New York in 1951. With the help of the Israeli underground in 1947, the Fruchtenbaum family escaped from behind the Iron Curtain to Germany, where they were confined to British Displaced Persons’ camps. According to his biography:Īrnold Fruchtenbaum was born in 1943 in Siberia, Russia after his Jewish father - falsely accused of being a Nazi spy when he fled Poland from Hitler - was released from a Communist prison. Arnold Fruchtenbaum is Founder and Director of Ariel Ministries. Ariel Ministries exists in order to evangelize Jewish people and to disciple Jewish and Gentile believers through intensive Bible teaching from a Jewish perspective.ĭr.
